Over farming an area...
Yeah so last night I decided to ravage those trolls, and on my 8th run I got this tip... telling me to not farm one area so much as the loots will cease to drop. However I've been farming those griffons for ages and that never came up..
Anyways, should I listen to this tip or is it outdated? And how long would it take for an area to become norm again? Thanks for your time. |

well they've added an anti-farm code a long time ago, so the more you farm one specific spot , less items and stuff will drop.
I never noticed any changes in drops, because I don't farm that much, but I think this is only for when you really are farming 6 hours straight the same spot. |

if you repeatly kill a few (not sure on exact number) mobs at a certain area, you'll make the anti-bot-farming code kick in.
maybe when you farm griffions you kill enough number of mobs and run out far enough to not having the farmer alert go off. |

That's interesting because I farmed griffons last night for a couple of hours straight but never got a warning and the drops were fine. Maybe like Xonic said it has to do with how much/how far into the zone you go. *shrugs*

I ran in and out and went after a group of minoutars with my warrior and got "the message" but finished the big group of minoutars and got a silver dye drop right after being warned. Go figure.....

dyes are worth 1 gold, and drops are related to their "gold value" so tahts why
there was/is a theory that you could over farm an area and casue the drop value to be so low taht you consistantly drop dyes, hecne actually making a lot of money. I dunno if it worked but just a heads up. |

I know it will get you a "warning" if it's extreme from what I heard but the code starts to lower your drop rate also w/o a waring. They only way to get them back up is to move to another location.
I saw this myself when I was building up skulls for candy canes (own small personal stash). Nolani -> zone -> fill up -> repeat. The drops were starting to decrease across the board after a bit of time. Once I went to other area's, and came back, drop rates were much higher. |

If only I knew where another huge pack of trolls are at... And if only those griffons were lvl 24, cause at 21 they drop crap that's not even capped in dmg..

Find different locations to farm in and bounce around between them - no worries about the anti-farm thing kicking in.

One thing I've noticed is that there have been a few times where I was griffon farming with my W/Mo and for whatever reason I couldn't gain adrenaline. My "Bonetti's Defense" skill was useless because of this and the weird this is that when it's happened I don't think that I had been farming for much more than 2 or 3 runs out of Augury. I didn't have anything put "Soothing Images" on me or anything like that so I'm not sure what would've caused me not to gain adrenaline. Anyone else see this before?
